Each camera sub-assembly came to us in a white box. We're using the white boxes to package the lenses before shipping to you, minimizing our environmental footprint.

Backer Update - Production
almost 5 years ago – Fri, Jun 14, 2019 at 01:27:31 PM

Hi Backers!

Here's a brief but important update:

We've gotten anodizing confirmation from our camera cover supplier. The parts will be processed next Monday. We can expect them to ship it to us on Wednesday and we'll receive it on Friday or the following Monday.

Once we've receive that, shipping the rewards will be on a rolling basis over a span of 2-3 weeks.

Big thanks to everyone for your kind patience on the delivery.

Pre-delivery preparation

We've been working on shortening the delivery time-frame. The camera parts that have reached us are going through quality control and pre-preparation to receive the face plates. The QC and preparation process will be completed today. So far we've received 700 cameras from our supplier. The QC passing rate exceeds 99.5%. 2 camera has failed QC. 2 require minor rework that we can fix in a day.

We've also assembled 780 IR cut filters, ready to go for shipping.

We're also glad to announce that we've upgraded the Nikon F adapter with aperture control.

First release of the remote application software is expected by the end of next week.

Delivery wise, we're still dependent on the camera's front plate arriving at our doors. We are constantly following up with the supplier.

It appears that the plates have been partially manufactured. It will be going through threading and awaiting finishing and anodizing steps. We'll update you as soon as we get a firm timeline on the manufacturing.

On another note: We've fully sold out all 700 pre-order cameras! We are no longer taking new orders, so we can focus on fulfilling all our Backers. Future orders will be via retailers or our web-shop.

Thank you for your support and kind patience!

Backer Update - Production
almost 5 years ago – Fri, May 24, 2019 at 01:00:04 AM

 Hi Backers!

Here's the update on the NANO1 campaign.

Production is in the final stretch now. The same issue is holding back the shipment currently - aluminum machining. More details after the progress updates.

Apart from aluminum machining parts, here's the latest things that we've completed for production last week.

PU cases have arrived.

App development

We are integrating more features as we go along with the app development.

Aluminum Machining

The delay caused by aluminum machining was unfortunate and unexpected. The machining house we used were reliable suppliers who produced the TINY1 lens adapters, which was made on schedule and were of high quality.

They have informed me that a subcontractor, in charge of the anodization process, has damaged a whole lot of aluminum front plate. As our order size is only 700, the lot meant the entire production was lost. After the electrolysis process, all the aluminum plate showed erosion from wrong parameters set.

The supplier is now doing everything they can to produce the aluminum plate and get it processed, so that we can deliver the NANO1 to you, our backers.

We're also closely following up on the matter.

On a side note: On Monday, it was discovered that I'm suffering from a hernia. I've undergone surgery to repair the hernia on my abdomen and am currently on bed rest.

We'll still keep following up with the delivery situation to ensure that the delivery does not get delayed too much. We're hoping to start shipment as soon as the aluminum machining situation is resolved.

Thank you,
